Why attend

This high-level dialogue will highlight how conservation is a shared responsibility across cultures and generations. Senior leaders and decision-makers are invited to engage directly with young leaders, listening to their experiences and exchanging perspectives on how to strengthen conservation leadership.

Session Description

This high-level intergenerational dialogue will highlight the invisible thread of mentorship that connects leaders across generations, cultures, and regions in the shared responsibility of conserving nature. Panellists will share personal stories of how mentors—elders, teachers, family, or professional guides—helped them grow, step into leadership, and pioneer bold solutions for biodiversity and climate. The conversation will also explore how youth leaders are themselves becoming mentors, inspiring and guiding new generations of changemakers. Through storytelling and interactive reflections, the session will: • Portray successful conservation initiatives as a result of mentorship and passion, showing how guidance combined with personal dedication can drive transformative impact. • Invite the audience to recognize the mentors who shaped their own journeys. • Encourage reflection on how intergenerational collaboration can transform conservation.
