Session Description
As the world’s leading network of protected and conserved area professionals, the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) honors exceptional individuals and organizations whose work has advanced global conservation. The Kenton R. Miller Award for Innovation in National Parks and Protected Area Sustainability celebrates those who have pioneered innovative policies, scientific approaches, technologies, field practices, or governance models with proven impact at local, national, or international scales. The Fred Packard Award for Outstanding Service to Protected Areas recognizes individuals or groups whose dedication and contributions have significantly strengthened the protection and management of these vital places. The Kathy MacKinnon Award, formerly the WCPA Chair Award, acknowledges WCPA members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and long-standing commitment to the Commission’s mission.
