Session Description
This 45-minute pit talk brings together experts in freshwater ecosystem protection in Latin America to share key experiences and lessons learned. The panel will present a variety of mechanisms that are transforming freshwater conservation in the region, including national laws and policies, protected areas and OMECs, as well as community-led initiatives. Through concrete examples, it will highlight how these approaches contribute to the protection of highly biodiverse and threatened freshwater ecosystems, and how they can be replicated or adapted in different contexts.Organised by
