Session Description
This session spotlights the Podong Initiative as a global, impact-driven effort to recognize and resource Indigenous Peoples’ leadership in biodiversity conservation and climate action. Grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems, Podong advances full and effective participation and ensures access to adequate finance for implementing environmental agreements. Panellists, including leaders and implementing partners, will share what the initiative has accomplished to date, how it supports on-the-ground stewardship, and its roadmap for scaling results. Attendees will gain insight into governance models, funding pathways, and partnership mechanisms that elevate Indigenous rights, strengthen territorial management, and translate commitments into measurable ecological and community outcomes.Organised by
