Why attend

Audience can deepen the understanding of the measures, progress and experience regarding OECMs in Asia region and reflect them in their respective country. It will also provide opportunities to connect with experts in the preceding countries, including Japan.

Session Description

This event will showcase the measures taken in Asia region for the achievement of the Target 3 of the GBF, with a focus on OECMs. It will share the progress and experience by the Government of Japan in promoting OECMs with a whole-of-society approach, including Japan’s “30 by 30 Roadmap”, national certification scheme of OECMs, etc. It also will feature measures, with progress and experience, taken by other Asian countries. We are also seeking participation from IUCN WCPA Asia OECM Working Group, so that it can contribute to the discussions at the WG. Target audience would include, but not limited to, government agencies and NGOs that are seeking effective OECM schemes, as well as IUCN WCPA Asia OECM WG members.
