Session Description
Implementing Target 3 requires equitably governed, effectively managed conservation that respects Indigenous and local rights, ensures gender-responsive participation, and advances gender justice.This podcast will explore how conservation policies can support women’s rights and leadership while addressing barriers to their participation. Featuring diverse speakers, we’ll discuss insights from lived experiences and the collaborative Roadmap on Advancing Equity and Rights in Area-Based Conservation, developed at the Nanyuki workshop (Feb 2024).
Through expert discussions and storytelling, we’ll highlight ways to embed gender equality in conservation governance, recognize women’s contributions, and ensure meaningful participation. Listeners will gain key takeaways on gender-responsive conservation and ways to engage in ongoing efforts.
