Reimagining Conservation
, Onsite
Session with interpretation
Why attend
This is an opportunity to hear directly from indigenous and community delegates about their aspirations for conservation and sustainable use on their lands, and reflect on the kinds of changes they would like to see in the support provided by conservation actors and funders.
Session Description
One change that is needed in order to scale up support for indigenous and community-led conservation is simply to listen to what they have to say rather than making assumptions about their views. In this session, IP and LC delegates from Thailand, Kenya, Peru, Nepal, the Democratic Republic of Congo and The Philippines will communicate some key messages about what conservationists need to do differently to support them as leaders of conservation and sustainable use on their lands and territories and we will discuss of common themes.Organised by
