Why attend

Scaling up NbS for water security in MENA is critical to addressing the region’s severe water scarcity, climate impacts, and ecosystem degradation. This session will showcase practical, cost-effective NbS approaches such as wetland restoration, watershed management, and sustainable agriculture that enhance water availability, improve resilience, and support biodiversity.

Session Description

This session will explore how integrated Nature-based Solutions and agricultural water management can address MENA’s water security challenges under climate stress. It will highlight ecosystem restoration, water cycle preservation, and community-led approaches that sustain livelihoods, promote gender equality, enhance resilience, and support equitable development, while stressing the need for regional collaboration to scale successful initiatives.
