Are you interested in understanding the agreed upon criteria for OECMs and how they can be applied in your country? What is the role of OECMs in achieving CBD Target 3? This session brings you the CBD and IUCN Guidance on OECMs and works through a range of examples.
Session Description
This session provides an opportunity to explore the IUCN Guidance on OECMs and apply the criteria to your potential OECMs. The Convention on Biological Diversity created a definition and criteria of OECMs in Decision 14/8 and asked IUCN to create additional guidance. This session will include experts from the IUCN-WCPA to explain the criteria and work through examples. Participants are encouraged to bring examples of potential OECMs from their countries for the workshop part of the session.Partners
