Join Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and leaders from IUCN, philanthropy, and civil society to explore the nation's successful, scalable models for protecting the world's critical primary forests and coral reefs

Session Description

Indonesia, a nation of extraordinary biodiversity and home to the world's third-largest tropical rainforest, has emerged as a leader in pioneering effective conservation strategies. This event moves beyond narratives of threat to spotlight the nation's significant progress, including reducing its deforestation rate to a multi-decade low and establishing global leadership in marine conservation. The session will showcase proven successes in terrestrial and marine conservation, with a special focus on protecting globally significant primary forests. Join a high-level, interactive dialogue featuring Ministry of Forestry and leaders from IUCN, philanthropy and civil society. Panellists will explore scalable strategies for sustainable financing, community engagement, and policy enforcement to support Indonesia’s ambitious conservation goals, including the FOLU Net Sink 2030 target.
