Session Description
From the Indonesia Coral Reef Bond to scalable models from Southern and Eastern Africa, speakers will reveal how results-driven approaches, backed by trusted standards, i.e. the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas or Nature-based Solutions (NbS), can unlock both public and private funding. The Coral Triangle Conservation Fund (CTCF) will share lessons from financing marine and coastal areas in one of the world’s richest biodiversity regions—placing equity, gender inclusion, and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities at the heart of conservation. Experiences from the financial institution will also be shared. From Zimbabwe, the Sango Wildlife Conservancy will offer a business-driven perspective, showing how combining IUCN Green List, B Corp, and TÜV Nord certifications, along with emerging tools such as biodiversity credits can strengthen the financial resilience of conservation areas and attract long-term corporate partnerships.
