Alain MUKIRANYA SIVAKOWA

Biography

Bachelor's degree in ecology and wildlife management and multiple paramilitary training courses, leadership and civic engagement, protected areas management, natural heritage management, etc.
Alain was deputy director of Gorilla Ambassadors, a program launched in 2019 in Virunga National Park to help protect and conserve the endangered mountain gorilla through environmental education.
His interests include primate conservation, protected areas management, heritage conservation, environmental education and storytelling.
He is one of 15 Charles R. Wall Fellows in Conservation Leadership & Management at the African Wildlife Foundation.
Member of ChangeMakerxChange, he is also an UNESCO's Green Citizen and Young African World Heritage Professionals and Volunteers.
As ranger and member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Commissions on Protected Areas (WCPA), Education and Communication (CEC) and Ecosystem Management (CEM), he has joined the Congolese Wildlife Authority (ICCN🇨🇩) as IEC Officer & Assistant to the Maiko National Park's Director.
