David CARRERA BONET

Biography

A naturalist by vocation since childhood. 

He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Early in his career, he worked in communication about protected areas, biodiversity sampling and assessment, environmental impact assessment, biodiversity monitoring, as well as nature education and interpretation. 

His main professional activity has been with the Network of Natural Parks of the Provincial Council of Barcelona, ​​where he worked as an expert in biodiversity planning and analysis, and in recent years he has served as the head of conservation for this network of protected areas, located in a region facing significant pressures due to its high socioeconomic activity in the western Mediterranean. 

He has also authored and contributed to various publications: scientific studies, habitat management and natural area planning manuals, nature and biodiversity guides, and articles on natural phenomena and curiosities.
