Faizah Slehat is the Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) Manager at the International Union for Conservation of Nature – Regional Office for West Asia (IUCN ROWA). She leads the design and implementation of NbS projects that strengthen climate resilience, improve water security, and promote sustainable livelihoods across Jordan and the MENA region.
Her expertise spans climate adaptation, ecosystem-based approaches, rangeland management, community engagement, and policy advocacy. She works closely with ministries, local communities, and international partners to integrate NbS into national strategies and development planning.
Faizah is deeply committed to scaling Nature-Based Solutions by combining scientific knowledge with local practices, ensuring sustainability through capacity building, and aligning projects with the IUCN Global Standard for NbS. Her leadership focuses on building partnerships, monitoring impacts, and showcasing innovative solutions that address water, food, and energy challenges in arid and semi-arid landscapes.
Through her work, Faizah contributes to positioning Jordan and the wider region as a hub for NbS learning and replication, ensuring that communities are empowered to face the challenges of climate change with resilience and innovation.
