Federico Cartín Arteaga is an economist and urban planner with more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, public policy, and urban development. Since January 2025, he has served as the Executive Director of the Forever Costa Rica Association, where he leads the management of more than US$90 million in marine and terrestrial conservation funds. His career includes collaborations with Accenture in the Americas, Europe, and Canada, as well as with the Inter-American Development Bank on climate change, agricultural resilience, and sustainable cities. He has also served as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Nature Positive Cities Taskforce, founded Rutas Naturbanas, and authored Costa Rica’s Outdoor Commerce Law
