Biography

Inna Modja is a talented Malian-French singer, songwriter, and activist known for her unique fusion of traditional West African music with contemporary pop, rock, and electro sounds. With her captivating voice and powerful stage presence, Inna has become a prominent figure in the international music scene.

Growing up in a multicultural household, Inna was exposed to a diverse range of musical influences, from Malian traditional music to international pop and soul. Her love for music blossomed early, and she started singing and performing at a young age.

Inna Modja's music carries strong messages about social and environmental issues, as she is deeply committed to making a positive impact through her art. One of her most prominent projects is the Great Green Wall, an African-led initiative aiming to grow an 8,000-kilometer wall of trees across the entire width of Africa to fight against desertification, climate change, and poverty. Inna is actively involved in promoting the project and has contributed to the making of a documentary film about the Great Green Wall, sharing her passion for environmental preservation and climate justice.

Inna Modja is also a strong advocate for women's rights and gender equality and is involved in numerous campaigns addressing women's empowerment, reproductive health, and gender-based violence. Inna is particularly focused on the recently launched Women, Girls, and Land Campaign #HerLand, advocating for women's rights and empowerment in the context of land management and environmental conservation.

In recognition of her dedication to environmental and social causes, Inna Modja was appointed as a Land Ambassador for the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and later in 2023 elevated to the role of a Goodwill Ambassador. In this capacity, she uses her platform to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable land management and the fight against desertification.
