Janet EDMOND

Biography

Janet Edmond is the Senior Director for Peace and Development Partnerships in the Policy Center for Environment and Peace at Conservation International (CI). Building upon a strong foundation of science, partnership and field demonstration, CI empowers societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature, our global biodiversity, for the well-being of humanity. Ms. Edmond has more than 26 years experience managing integrated health, development and biodiversity conservation programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. The Peace and Development Partnership Program promotes environmental peacebuilding as a mechanism for ensuring sustainable conservation and human well-being outcomes. The program also collaborates with development partners to ensure biodiversity conservation is a basic component of development programming. Edmond is an expert in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), maternal and child health (MCH), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) development and biodiversity conservation. She has more than 17 years technically and financially managing US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded health, development and environment grants and cooperative agreements. She holds a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
