Jona OLAVSDOTTIR

Biography

I am a PhD fellow at the Centre for Nature-based Solutions at Aarhus University, where I research governance processes and the implementation of nature-based solutions. Before joining academia, I spent four years administering the Nordic Council of Ministers’ program on nature-based solutions, working across the Nordic region to strengthen policy, practice, and collaboration. Based in the Faroe Islands and partly in Copenhagen, my work lies at the intersection of environmental governance, democratic participation, and cross-sector cooperation. I hold a master’s degree in public administration (cand.scient.adm.) and bring experience from political advising, Nordic and international environmental policy, and nature management. I am motivated by bridging the gap between policy and practice to support sustainable and resilient communities, grounded in cooperation, innovation, and trust across politics, administration, and civil society.
