Kaori Yasuda, Rwanda Country Representative/Regional Strategic Partnerships & Programme Development Coordinator for Eastern and Southern Africa, IUCN
Kaori Yasuda has been the Country Representative for Rwanda/Regional Strategic Partnerships and Programme Development Coordinator for Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office of the IUCN – International Union for Conservation of Nature based in Kigali, Rwanda since June 2022.
Kaori has more than 25 years of experience in international development, programme management, operations, and strategic partnerships in Africa, Europe and North America. Her experience spans working on a number of themes including catalyzing private investment in conservation in East Africa, nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation, forest and landscapes restoration, transboundary and integrated water resources management.
Prior to her current role, Kaori served as the IUCN Country Representative for Kenya/Regional Strategic Partnerships and Programme Development Coordinator based in Nairobi, Kenya and worked at the IUCN Headquarters in the Strategic Partners Unit responsible for bilateral and multilateral development partners. Her previous experience includes working for the Centre for Socio Economic Development (CESD), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD) all in Geneva, Switzerland and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington DC, USA.
