Laura Gruber is a Senior Programs Manager at the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN), where she leads the development and expansion of WCN’s Rising Wildlife Leaders conservation and leadership development programs. She also plays a key role in the operational management of WCN’s Conservation Department.
An alumna of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders (EWCL) program, Laura now serves as its Executive Director, continuing her long-standing commitment to mentoring and elevating the next generation of conservation professionals.
With over 25 years of experience in the zoological and conservation sectors, Laura has supported both in-situ and ex-situ initiatives around the world. Her work centers on strengthening conservation impact through leadership development and fostering cross-sector collaboration. She is passionate about empowering local conservationists through access to mentorship, peer networks, training, and financial support, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities needed to lead sustainable conservation solutions.
When not working, Laura enjoys exploring wild places and drawing inspiration from the landscapes and species she works to protect.
