Marcia LEDERMAN

Biography

Biologist, specialist in the management of protected areas and master's in biodiversity management and conservation. With experience in planning and participatory management of both public and private protected areas, as well as in other territorial management instruments, such as ecological corridors, biosphere reserves, and mosaics. She has developed her professional experience in the Atlantic Forest, the Amazon, and Mexico, in contact with various government actors and civil society, especially resident rural communities and those surrounding protected areas. She works in national and international consultancies, is a moderator and facilitator of participatory processes, and an instructor in postgraduate programs training managers of protected areas in the Amazon and Latin America. Mentor in training for the Network of Young Leaders in Protected and Conserved Areas of Latin America and the Caribbean - Rellac Joven. He is part of the group of expert evaluators of the IUCN Green List Program in Brazil (EAGL-Brazil). Currently, she is the Conservation Manager of WCS Brazil since September 2023.
