Marie Bjornson-Langen, Deputy Executive Director for Sustainable Development Solutions at AFD
Marie holds a Master’s degree in History, a postgraduate diploma (DEA) in Political Science, and a Master’s from ESSEC Business School.
She began her career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen in 1998, then served as Head of Public Policy Evaluation at Ernst & Young until 2007.
At the same time, she held elected positions from 1995 to 2004, serving as Deputy Municipal Councillor for the city of Cergy and as a Regional Councillor on the Île-de-France Regional Council.
She joined the French Development Agency (AFD) in 2007, where she held various positions within the Strategy Department, the Urban Development Division, the Orients Department, and the Political and Civic Transition Department.
In 2013–2014, she was an advisor on State reform in the office of Minister Marylise Lebranchu.
Since 2022, she has been Deputy Executive Director of the Sustainable Development Solutions Department at AFD.
