Masego Madzwamuse

Biography

Masego is the Environment Programme Director at Oak Foundation where she oversees three sub-programmes, namely and respectively the Nature and People - the Regenerative Landscapes and the Marine and Livelihood’s sub-programmes. Prior to joining the foundation in 2021 she was the CEO of the Southern Africa Trust.

Masego has an established track record as grant maker and a policy analyst specialising in climate justice and adaptation, socio-economic rights, community based natural resources management, and equity and social policy.

With over 20 years’ experience, Masego has worked on the rights of communities in conservation and supported social movement and civil society organisations advocating for social and economic justice. This has involved leading policy research and advocacy and grant making to climate justice groups, economic justice networks, trade, debt and aid advocacy groups, parliamentary portfolio committees, conservation and environmental organisations working on natural resource governance and socio-economic & cultural rights.
