Bachelor’s degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia PhD in Ecology of birds from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom in 1996. thesis title "The Ecology of the lappet-faced vultures Torgos tracheliotus in Saudi Arabia" A former Professor of Animal Ecology and Wildlife Conservation at the Department of Biology, Taif University, in which supervise of postgraduate students from universities inside and outside the Kingdom Experience for more than 37 years in the field of Birds and biodiversity studies and wildlife conservation (Ex-Situ & In-Situ Conservation). - Vultures Research Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Birds of Prey: Satellite tracking, Behavior study, Population monitoring and Threat assessment). - Taxonomic studies of reptiles and range studies - Conservation reintroduction (Asiatic Houbara and Antelopes of the Arabian Peninsula) - Breeding Seabirds of the Red Sea islands (research and supervise students from local, regional, International Universities). - Author (with relevant international organizations) of several regional and international guidelines and best practices – birds & powerlines in Arabic, National Action Plan for Vultures in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. More than 125 scientific papers have been published in refereed journals, in the field of Animal ecology & genetic. Member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Wildlife Development, since 2019. Member of the Saudi Arabia’ delegations in several international Birds and Biodiversity agreements & MoU (CMS, AEWA, CBD, Raptor MoU) as Member of the Technical Advisory Group for the Memorandum of Understanding for Migratory Birds of Prey between Africa and Eurasia since 2012. Chair of African Eurasian Waterbirds Agreement (AEWA) Technical Committee, Member of the Two Task Forces established by the Convention of the Migratory species to develop and implement the conservation of Saker Falcon & Energy and Migratory specie do develop action plans & mitigation guidelines to conserve the Migratory species from Electrocution & Collision by powerline and other renewable energy. Member of several commissions in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), e. g. Species Survival Commission, Vulture specialist Group, and Commission on Ecosystem Management. Member of national expert committee for the Natural site, World Heritage Convention. Worked as a part-time consultant from 2009-2017 and then as a full-time advisor to the Saudi Wildlife Authority from 2018 to 2020 Presented Birdlife International Middle East region in the Global Council of BirdLife International from 2008-2013, as well as in the Regional Executive Committee for the Middle East from 2008 up to date.
