Muzaffar Ahmad is a Senior Environment Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), where his work is dedicated to ensuring that large-scale infrastructure investments are environmentally sustainable and aligned with global biodiversity goals.
At AIIB, Muzaffar leads efforts to integrate robust environmental standards and risk management into project financing. His focus is on ensuring that investments in sectors like agribusiness, energy, and transport not only mitigate environmental impact but also actively support national biodiversity objectives and action plans.
With prior experience applying environmental safeguards at the World Bank for projects across the Pacific Island States, Muzaffar brings a wealth of practical knowledge in designing and implementing projects that balance development needs with critical environmental protection. He holds a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the University of Melbourne and is a certified expert in Climate Change & Renewable Energy Finance.
