Olivier Staehli (26, Zurich, Switzerland) is the co-founder and CEO of Synature, a startup using AI and sound to revolutionize animal monitoring across agriculture, aquaculture, and nature. Devoted to nature, with a keen interest in technology, Olivier bridges deep tech and biodiversity to drive data-driven impact.
As a computer scientist with a Bachelor’s from the University of Bern and a Master’s in Management of Technology from EPFL, he blends technical expertise with entrepreneurial drive. During his studies, he gained practical experience at startups, accelerators, and corporates - always operating at the intersection of tech and business.
Olivier’s journey began with a thesis on bioacoustic wolf monitoring and evolved into Synature: a company deploying smart microphones and AI models to monitor all vocalising animals. The ultimate goal of Synature is to make animal communication understandable. In 2023, Olivier's work was recognised by IUCN as a "Changemaker".
