Renato Madsen Arruda has been a Federal Police Chief since 2008 and currently serves as Deputy Director of the Amazon and Environment Division (DAMAZ) and General Coordinator for the Protection of the Amazon, the Environment, and Historical and Cultural Heritage (CGMA/DAMAZ/PF). He holds a law degree from 2002 and practiced law until 2006. He was a judicial analyst at the Superior Court of Justice from 2006 to 2008, when he began his career as a Federal Police Chief. He has worked in the prosecution of crimes against the financial system and money laundering, crimes against public administration, and especially in the area of environmental crimes. He has held various positions, including as Regional Chief of the Judicial Police in the states of Pernambuco and Minas Gerais, and as Regional Superintendent in the state of Maranhão. He holds a postgraduate degree in Criminal Investigation Management from the National Police Academy and a Master's degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco.
