Biography

Ricardo Baldomero Ola Huitz, a Guatemalan agricultural engineer specializing in fruit and vegetable growing, with 14 years of experience in peach production. He is a producer and owner of an orchard located in the central highlands of Guatemala, where he has implemented sustainable practices to address the challenges of climate change on rural livelihoods. With a long-term vision for agricultural resilience, he has incorporated soil conservation technologies and rainwater harvesting systems. One of his most notable projects has been the establishment of a water reservoir with support from the IUCN, which has improved water availability and productivity under conditions of increasing climate variability.
