Roy HOWELL

Biography

Roy Howell serves as Senior Policy Officer in the IUCN North America Regional Office, contributing to the development and management of IUCN's strategic relationships with US government agency members, supporting policy interactions with the US government, and helping represent the work of the Union on Capitol Hill. Roy has spent over a decade working with policymakers, diverse stakeholder groups, and leading conservation experts from around the globe to elevate conservation and natural resource issues in Washington. Prior to joining IUCN, Roy had worked for the International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF) since 2014, serving in a number of capacities across the organization, including, most recently, as Policy Adviser and Director of Operations. In these roles, he helped support the leadership of the bipartisan International Conservation Caucus in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives through events, learning trips, and exchanges that inform policymakers on the importance of U.S. leadership in international conservation. He holds a JD from the American University Washington College of Law,  as well as a BS in Economics from the University of South Carolina.
