Sylvia Gan

Biography

Sylvia is the Learning Manager at the Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF), where she leads the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems that generate evidence-based insights to inform donor strategies, strengthen organizational learning, and amplify the voices of young climate leaders. Previously, she worked across Asia, Africa, and Latin America researching and assessing the climate, biodiversity, and community benefits of large-scale forest carbon and conservation projects, and partnered with civil society and government agencies to develop conservation measures that mitigate the impacts of infrastructure development on wildlife and ecosystems in Singapore. She has conducted extensive field research in tropical habitats across Southeast Asia and mentored youth-led environmental initiatives on project design, grant writing, and monitoring frameworks. Sylvia holds an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University.
