Tariq Abu Taleb – Executive Director & Founding Member, Wadi for Sustainable Ecosystems Development (Wadi)

Tariq Abu Taleb is the Executive Director and a founding member of Wadi for Sustainable Ecosystems Development (Wadi), with over 25 years of experience in environmental management, conservation, and ecological restoration. His expertise bridges technical and strategic domains, from business development and sustainability initiatives to ecological restoration and community engagement across Jordan and the wider MENA region.  At Wadi, Tariq has been pivotal in shaping the organization’s strategic direction, forging innovative partnerships, and advancing sustainability through active collaboration with communities, government, and international stakeholders. His career spans master planning, program implementation, and impact evaluation, alongside hands-on restoration work that includes conceptual design, monitoring systems, and capacity building.  Beyond project implementation, Tariq has played a key role in policy development and governance. He has served on numerous national and international committees and advisory bodies, contributing to reforms in environmental legislation, biodiversity strategies, and conservation policies in Jordan and the region.
