Torsten THIELE

Biography

Torsten Thiele is a sustainable finance and ocean governance expert and the Founder of Global Ocean Trust. He supports policy development and researches innovative Blue Finance approaches, drawing on over 20 years experience in project and infrastructure finance with leading finance institutions. Recent publications addressed blue infrastructure and nature-based solutions, innovative High Seas finance, Blue bonds, Deep sea governance and Ocean climate finance. Torsten Thiele holds graduate degrees in law and economics from Bonn University, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School and an MPhil in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge.
