I am a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, The University of Dodoma, Tanzania. I have a background in natural sciences having trained in wildlife conservation/ecology, and later morphed into interdisciplinary sciences focusing on environmental governance and conservation social sciences. My research interests hinge on the intersection of political ecology and community conservation. My post-doctoral research centred on the implications of the radical convivial conservation proposal to community conservation and the larger conservation agency in Tanzania, under the CONVIVA project (https://www.convivialconservation.com/). My recent research work has focused on the political economy of conservation, data justice and conservation, decolonizing conservation and integrating convivial conservation theory with practice, exploring pathways to coexistence between lions and humans in the Great Ruaha-Rungwa Ecosystem in Tanzania. My research work is published in various reputable journals, such as Conservation and Society, Geoforum, Global Environmental Change, Biological Conservation, Nature Ecology and Evolution, Annual Reviews of Environment and Natural Resources, Conservation Biology and Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability. Also, I save as a reviewer in a number of reputable journals. I have co-edited a special issue in Conservation and Society Journal in 2022, and, in 2023, a subsequent book titled Convivial Conservation: from Principles to Practice freely available at MayFly books (https://mayflybooks.org/convivial-conservation/ ).
