William RIDGEON

Biography

Will is an award-winning Senior producer and director, at the BBC’s Natural History Unit – producing a wide range of natural history series and specialising in creating landmark, blue-chip films. As producer on the critically acclaimed series, Blue Planet II, Will directed The Deep and Coast episodes as well as delivering the final environmental impact film, Our Blue Planet, presented by David Attenborough. This saw him spending over 100 hours in deep-sea submersibles filming giant shark feeding frenzies and erupting methane volcanoes. More recently, Will produced and directed the award-winning Ocean episode of Planet Earth III, which became the most watched factual series of 2023. Will is currently producing two episodes of the new BBC series, Hidden Planet.
