Biography

Yang Xi is a seasoned professional with a Master’s degree in Cartography & Geographic Information Systems (Renmin University) and over six years of specialized expertise in agricultural insurance innovation, ESG policy integration, and climate resilience. As Assistant Director at China Pacific Insurance (CPIC) Group’s ESG Office, he drives cross-sectoral strategies aligned with global standards. Previously, as Product Development Manager for Agriculture Insurance & ESG, he pioneered groundbreaking solutions, including Grassland Carbon Sink Insurance (Inner Mongolia) and Forestry Carbon Sink Insurance (Guizhou), leveraging remote sensing to quantify ecological value and align with CCC’s climate action goals. His development of parametric climate index products (typhoon, rainfall) across 15 provinces reduced farmer losses, earning recognition in China’s “Top 10 Warm Claim Cases” (2022). By embedding IUCN CEESP equity principles into 500+ agricultural insurance products nationwide, he directly enhanced socio-economic equity for farmers. Awarded for policy proposals and holding patents in climate risk modeling, Yang merges technical acumen with a passion for scalable, sustainable insurance frameworks.
