As the world coalesces toward a global plastic policy framework, how can governments prepare to lead implementation? Join WWF, IUCN, The Pew Charitable Trusts, The World Economic Forum, the city of Antigua, Guatemala, and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province to explore how we can translate global ambition into local action.
Descripción de la sesión
Intergenerational participants will share recommendations to scale efforts for a plastics-free environment: implementation of a plastics treaty, and importantly what governments can do now in advance of a treaty. There will be a focus on the WWF Plastic Smart Cities approach, the IUCN Academy plastics hotspotting course, IUCN and its World Commission on Environmental Law expertise, and tools from other partners. Participants can identify interventions which could be effective for national action plans, regulatory frameworks, local waste management strategies, and how to improve measurement of plastics pollution. A Tool Clinic (multiple tables) will allow hands-on learning.Host
