As the world advances toward achieving the KM-GBF, especially Target 3 (30x30), regional collaboration and tailored support are more critical than ever. This side event will highlight how platforms like APAP in Asia, AfricaParks, EUROPARC, REDPARQUES, and the CBD Sub-Regional TSC Support Centres are driving scalable, inclusive area-based conservation. These mechanisms enable structured peer learning, political alignment, and technical assistance to help countries meet Target 3. By fostering cross-sector collaboration, amplifying IPLC voices, and translating global goals into national actions, they support implementation through OECMs, protected and conserved areas, and World Heritage recognition—showcasing the strategic value of regional hubs like the Asia-based CBD TSC Centre.Speaker
