Biografía

I am an Ecologist with a Master’s Degree in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation. I currently work as a independent consultant on conservation, REDD+ and restoration projects. My work has focused on proposing, assessing the effectiveness and implementing mechanisms aimed at local biodiversity conservation, including widely used measures such as protected areas, as well as other initiatives involving diverse stakeholders (e.g., local communities and the private sector) and several governance models. I had worked with regional and national authorities in order to enhance the protected areas networks, setting priorities for new protected areas and other conservation strategies. Since 2016 I have being working to apply the Other Effective Area Based Conservation Measures (OECM) guidelines to Colombian cases. My research interests include conservation strategies, governance, effectiveness, ecosystem services and socioecological systems.
