Steven DICKINSON

Biografía

Steven Dickinson is the Corporate Biodiversity Expert at TotalEnergies, a global energy company active in 130 countries. He leads the company’s biodiversity program, overseeing policy, tools, partnerships, and staff training. Steven provides technical advisory support across the value chain, focusing on high-sensitivity projects aligned with IFC standards. He spearheaded TotalEnergies’ commitment to the “Act4Nature” initiative and led the Group’s 2020–2030 Biodiversity Ambition at EXCOM level. He was appointed by IPBES as a lead author for its business and biodiversity assessment and is a member of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM). He co-chairs Ipieca’s Environment Group and formerly chaired its Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services work group. Steven represented the sector in the UN CBD’s Informal Advisory Group during the development of the Global Biodiversity Framework. He authored the AFNOR NFX 31-100 Biodiversity Standard for Organisations and led the development of the BFIS framework. He holds an MSc from King’s College London, a BSc in Environmental Biology, and has over 25 years of global experience across Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
