Descripción de la sesión
At a time when global financing systems are being repurposed for equity and impact, this session challenges traditional, top-down development finance models by positioning Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) as leaders in reshaping financial governance. It highlights how IPLC-designed funds and platforms serve as blueprints for equitable, resilient, and nature-positive economies. The session will explore the needs, capacities, and governance structures that enable these funds to operate effectively, with special emphasis on the potential for blended finance to support sustainable livelihoods and ecosystem regeneration. We will hear from IP and LCs led funding mechanisms that foster food security and create equitable, resilient livelihoods. By spotlighting these community-led innovations, the session offers real-world pathways for transforming financial systems to halt biodiversity loss, promote sustainability, and deliver social equity.Organised by
