Descripción de la sesión

Africa is home to about 25% of the world’s biodiversity, which is declining at an accelerated rate, threatening livelihoods and economies. Given the continent’s youth bulge, with 70% of the population under the age of 35, conservation education is a powerful tool to catalyze conservation action from an early age. In this session, we will showcase how young leaders are being empowered for conservation action, leveraging locally available tools and the power of technology to educate and amplify their stories. We will share the ground realities and approaches of conservation education in key Africa landscapes, unpack barriers and explore opportunities for scaling up impact. Drawing on stories from the work of the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and it's partners, we will zoom into Kenya, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), highlighting the power of partnerships and of adapting on local contexts.
