Por qué asistir

Explore how nature-based urban development can regenerate ecosystems and improve well-being. Convened by IUCN with Holcim and partners, this session highlights policy, design, and market tools to embed biodiversity into buildings and infrastructure—advancing circularity, reducing light pollution, and promoting nature-sensitive design for healthier, more resilient cities.

Descripción de la sesión

Convened by the IUCN Secretariat in partnership with Holcim, and with contributions from WBCSD, IUCN-CEM, the Municipality of Paris, and Second Nature, this session explores how cities and the private sector can lead a new wave of urban development that places nature at its core. As urbanization and construction accelerate, rethinking how we build is essential—not only to reduce harm, but to regenerate ecosystems and improve well-being. The event will examine how policy, regulation, and market incentives can embed biodiversity into the built environment, promote circular materials, and reduce light pollution. It will also highlight nature-sensitive design approaches—such as green roofs and vertical gardens—and the public health benefits of nature exposure in cities.
