Support and shape the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025

For the upcoming IUCN Congress 2025, IUCN will select several hundred events to be part of the Forum, a hub of public debate over the first four days of the Congress.

The quality of the Forum depends on the quality of the events, and Volunteer Technical Reviewers are an invaluable resource in helping select the very best of the proposals received through the Call for Proposals.

Three reviewers independently read and score each proposal to ensure a fair and objective review and selection process. Many individuals, either from IUCN or from the broader professional world, proudly rise to the challenge every four years and offer their assistance in this important task. We hope you will volunteer as a Technical Reviewer for this year’s Congress!

A manageable task

The Technical Review process is done entirely online. Reviewers access the proposals assigned to them from anywhere, anytime they have internet access, during the “review period”. This provides the ultimate flexibility for experts with busy schedules. Reviewers will have three weeks to read and score the proposals assigned to them.

Each proposal takes approximately 30 minutes (on average) to read and score. This makes it a manageable task, requiring only a few hours of your time. Reviewers are free to sign up to review as many proposals as they wish, according to their availability.
