Mandatory Carbon emission offset contribution
IUCN is committed to leading by example in sustainability and strives to organise environmentally responsible events. During your registration for the IUCN Congress 2025, IUCN requires participants to contribute to nature conservation by offsetting the carbon emissions associated with their participation in the event, whether they attend online or onsite. For the latter, the calculation will include the emissions generated by travel as well as those generated onsite by the event itself.
Through the online registration process, participants will be prompted to contribute, from a curated list, to one of the selected projects offering certified carbon offset credits. The selection of projects was done through a dedicated Call for Proposals restricted to IUCN Members, in alignment with the IUCN Carbon Offsetting Policy. Additional projects may be offered and will be selected following the principles outlined in the latter policy.
The list of projects may vary throughout the registration period as IUCN will purchase credits ahead of the event, based upon the Congress carbon emissions estimation, and will make these credits available through the registration system. Once a project is sold out, it may not be replaced.
Press registration
Journalists and photographers are eligible for free press registration, on a case-by-case basis.
More information about registration as a press representative will be posted soon.
Minors registration
Minors between 14 and 18 years old are welcome to participate in the IUCN Congress provided IUCN receives from the parent or legal guardian the signed parental consent form as outlined in the Terms and Conditions and each minor is duly registered to the Congress.
Parents with infants up to two years of age (“Infants”) are welcome to bring them to Congress (no registration necessary). A baby care room will be available at the venue.
Children between two and fourteen years of age (“Children”) are welcome to explore the Exhibition if visited during General Opening Hours. Children will not be able to access areas reserved for registered participants nor social events for accompanying persons.
All Children and Infants must be accompanied by a parent or authorised guardian and are under the responsibility of the accompanying adult who will be held responsible for all actions committed by Children and /or Infants under their responsibility.

Through the online registration process, participants will be prompted to contribute, from a curated list, to one of the selected projects offering certified carbon offset credits. The related fee will be automatically added to the registration fee. For online attendance, a flat fee will be calculated.
