I work as the Regional Coordinator Water and Wetlands, IUCN-Asia Regional Office. My professional journey includes design and implementation of climate resilient water resources project in South Asia as the Senior Water Resources Management Specialist at Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, Bangkok (2016-2025), Scientist at the Tocklai Tea Research Institute working on development and implementation of projects related to climate change and vulnerability of tea plantations in NE including study on integrated human-environment assessment of the tea landscape of Assam, India and sustainability of the tea plantation in future climate scenarios (2012-2016), and in his early professional career also worked on water and land resources management flagship programs in India under various national level initiatives of the Indian Space Research Organisation (1999-2006).
Over the last decade, I have developed extensive knowledge in integrated water resources management, climate change adaptation, ecosystem-based solutions bringing a system focussed and policy informed approach to sustainable management of surface and groundwater resources. I have contributed to multi-country programs on water resources management, disaster risk reduction, climate smart agriculture and fostering cross sectoral partnership.
I have also authored or co-authored a number of publications in international peer-reviewed publications, donor funded technical reports, organised or co-organized a number of events at national, regional, or global forums, and presented at international conferences and workshops. I completed my PhD from University of Southampton and I am an Erasmus Scholar with a dual Masters in Environmental Modelling and Management from ITC, The Netherlands and Applied Geological Sciences from Jadavpur University, India.
