Susanna KARI

Biography

Susanna joined UNESCO in 2013 and works at the World Heritage Centre, which is the Secretariat of the 1972 World Heritage Convention. As the Project Officer for natural heritage, she supports monitoring of the state of conservation of World Heritage sites, coordinates conservation activities, and leads the Centre’s work on corporate policies for safeguarding World Heritage. Before joining UNESCO, Susanna worked in development cooperation on community conservation programmes in Europe, Africa and Asia. She holds degrees in conservation biology and in environmental change and policy.
