Why attend
Conserving our world's biodiversity and unique natural environments means empowering local actors to pioneer locally-relevant solutions. But how do we ensure resources reach the right grantees, in an efficient manner, and maximise impact? Come to share, listen, and learn during this facilitated session on grant-making best practices.
Session Description
If we are to achieve our global biodiversity goals, we need to ensure that our efforts are rooted in the local. Through direct funding to CBOs, local NGOs, Indigenous communities and local governments, we can ensure that action for our planet is led by those who best understand the needs and challenges on the ground. Grant-making is one of the most impactful ways to support real conservation impact. This facilitated session brings together representatives from a wide range of IUCN's grant-facilities, with an open door to other interest grant facilities from across the Union. Grantees, partners and donors will also join us to exchange and learn from one another, with the aim being to identify a set of best practices for grant-making. If you have something to share, or wish to learn from others involved in grant-making, we'd love to welcome you to the session.Organised by
