Biography

I am a wildlife veterinarian and ecologist, holding an MS degree in Ecology and Conservation from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and a Ph.D. in Science from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. My academic background and research interests span ecology, parasitology, wildlife health, and the conservation of wild mammals, with a particular focus on carnivores and One Health approaches.

Currently, I serve as the Head Officer of the Center for Species Survival Brazil, a three-way partnership between the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC), the SSC Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG), and Parque das Aves. My work is dedicated to applying global standards and strengthening national capacity to assess, plan, and implement conservation actions in collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and other key stakeholders to safeguard species.
