Why attend

They can find concrete ways for the private sector to contribute to the GBF Target 3 by leveraging their own premises and operations. We would incentivize them to accelerate actions to expand OECMs collaborating with people and organizations having diverse background connected through the event.

Session Description

This event is to examine potential roles and contributions of the private sector in achieving the GBF Target 3, while sharing Japan’s experiences and initiatives with stakeholders, particularly for OECMs in Asia region. Achieving the Target 3 requires the participation of diverse stakeholders, not only governments but also the private sector such as companies and NGOs. By calling on people from different background to participate in the event set up in an interactive manner and exchanging views openly, we aim to evolve actions of private sector through OECMs toward 30by30. The target audience would be, but not limited to, governments pursuing 30by30 in a way which allows involvement with local communities, NGOs exploring new approaches for further nature conservation, and business organizations striving to create social values with their expertise gained through business activities.
