Why attend

Bold, scalable, replicable and collaborative models and approaches are necessary to close Africa’s significant finance for nature shortfall. The session spotlights some of Africa’s current and upcoming successes in implementing sustainable finance and the necessity of collaboration.

Session Description

Moderator: Candice Stevens
Introduction: The moderator will provide context for the lightning talks and panel, focusing on the urgent need to deepen innovative financing mechanisms through a landscape approach to reach impact for biodiversity and people. (2 mins)
Sustainable Finance 101 will break down the fundamentals of sustainable finance and how it works to close the finance for nature gap. (3 mins)
Lightning Talks and panel discussion: Working approaches and models will be spotlighted which involve the actual implementation of sustainable finance and the importance of collaboration to reach impact at scale. (20 mins)
Private sector: BIODEV and private sector engagement- Tunisia and Congo
Multi-national: The Finance Model being applied across eastern and southern Africa- landscapes, seascapes and Transfrontier Conservation Areas. (GIZ-funded)

Finance solution showcase: A discussion on the Building Blocks of CTFs and access to the Finance Solution Inventory (20 mins)
